Rachel L. Osband
I specialize in serving your family’s legal needs. I work with you to determine the best path forward for you and your family – financially, legally and personally.
Since graduating from Carleton College and Georgetown University Law Center, I have worked across a variety of practice areas and for a wide range of clients, allowing me to bring a broad perspective to each matter. I am a member of the Collaborative Law Institute, Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, Minnesota State Bar Association, and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
In addition to my private law practice, I serve as an Adjunct Professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, focusing on courtroom advocacy skill-building. Outside of law, I am a proud mom of two amazing boys and one adorably average dog. In my limited free time (two boys!), I am a member of the Richfield STEM School PTO and an avid book club attendee.
I offer legal advocacy services in all areas of family law including:
- parenting time,
- child support, and
- post-decree disputes.
Family law issues can be highly stressful and many people do not know what path to take to move forward. I offer collaborative divorce and cooperative divorce services along with traditional representation. We will explore options available to you and create a plan based on your individual needs. I am skilled at working with parties where mental illness, special needs or other medical issues are a part of the family picture. Contact me today to discuss which option would be best for your situation.
I can help you build your family through adoption. At Fiddler Osband Law, we can assist you with all aspects of the adoption process, whether it is a second-parent adoption, foster-to-adopt, direct placement adoptions, or ICWA-related proceedings. As an adoptive parent, I understand how the process can seem simultaneously exciting and overwhelming. We are here to advocate for, and support, you.
I am a trained, experienced family law mediator. I offer mediation services to couples whether they are represented by attorneys or working through the process on their own. My approach is to work with the parties to reduce conflict and focus on resolutions that benefit everyone involved, especially the children. I have experience in working with families to ensure that any divorce agreement addresses any special needs that may exist with children or family members in the household. Mediation can help speed the divorce process along as well as better enabling a couple to maintain a positive co-parenting relationship throughout the divorce process. Mediation can also be beneficial in resolving parenting issues that arise after a divorce or custody determination.
Taking the time to create, or update, your estate plan is one of the best steps you can take to protect your family. I make it easy for you to get your estate documents in place. Documents can include a will, health care directive, power of attorney, or applicable trusts, including special needs planning. All estate planning work is completed on a flat fee basis. Contact me today to request more information about flat-fee estate planning.
